I'm going to test the waters here, by posting a stupid little race-as-class I wrote up a while ago in a fit of pique while considering familiars for a friend's Witch character in a Stonehell campaign. I'm well beyond my depth with this whole blog thing and broadly inept in general, so lets see how we go.
BABY YAGA
You are a juvenile witch’s hut, newly hatched into this world. About the size of a large minifridge on legs, and about the same door size. You can’t really talk, but you could probably scratch vague pictograms into dirt or dust with your claws. Reroll: STR or DEXEQUIPMENT: Bird legs (1d8 Slashing) (roll below), Menacing door (1d6 bludgeoning) , 1d4 misc miniature household objects, sturdy walls (defence as chain)
Roll 1d10 for BIRD LEGS
- Chicken. Lay a nutritious and quite magical egg 1/day
- Stork. Extra tall, advantage on jumps or long steppy
- Pigeon. Urban. Advantage to sort through debris or garbage
- Raven. Ominous, “sniff” out carrion like the real thing
- Duck. Paddle through water at half speed, no check
- Goose. Honk, bother things by opening your door. Advantage to aggravate.
- Ostrich. Run like hell, +4 move
- Eagle. Show that salmon the world, +4 to grapple with feet
- Owl: Advantage on hearing.
- … Bird? Big sickle-clawed toes, increase Bird Legs damage to 1d12,

HOMELY: You have the seeds of a full, delightful home inside you. With ten minutes work, you can open your door to present a typical witchly household object. Nothing overtly magical, but youre a lot more likely to have a large cauldron than a usual house for example. Objects cant be removed, but can be used. Examples: A cookpot over a lit fire (your chimney will smoke), a fireplace (lovely to camp by), a mirror (expensive, maybe a little cursed), a chair (good for tying folk to), that sort of thing.
You double your carrying capacity by stuffing objects into your open door, but do not have particularly fine motor control. You can access your inventory as usual, with any presented object emerging from your door. You can’t exactly manipulate them, but you can regurgitate them onto the floor and go from there.
CARNIVDOOR: You’ve got to grow strong somehow. You can messily and clumsily choke down the corpse of an intelligent creature (that will fit through your door in one piece). Any corpse you’ve eaten is stored in some unfortunate stomach (without taking carry capacity) and can be regurgitated relatively intact (but with any equipment destroyed by digestive juices) for up to 8 hours, after which it’s digested, and you vomit up a… pellet, instead. At 10, 20, 30, 50, 70, and 100 corpses, you gain one of the following abilities, stackable.
+1 damage to door and claw attacks
+2 move
+5 inventory slots (not multiplied by HOMELY)
+1 defence
Some miscellaneous minor bonus (just look at notches okay)

BOLTHOLE: You can shelter friendly creatures inside yourself, assuming they fit in the door. They will be safe and comfortable inside, though their memories of what they see might be a little vague. The only noise they make inside that can escape is knocking at the door. On average, a whole person is 10 inventory slots
FORCEFUL WELCOME: If you grapple a creature, you may choose to go last in initiative as you start choking it down (making an extra grapple check). Assuming you succeed, it becomes trapped inside you. Its exact memories will be vague, but very very unpleasant. You deal your door attack damage to it automatically each round. If it escapes the grapple, it’s still inside you, but can burst your door open and escape by dealing 1/4th your total HP to you (hitting automatically). The only noise they make inside that can escape is knocking at/attacking the door.
MAKE A HOUSE A HOME: You’re all grown up, at least internally. Design a 20’ x 20’ interior for yourself, ideally featuring any objects you’ve displayed using HOMELY. You may opt to open the door to your true interior whenever you open your door, allowing free passage as for any creature you want (or that can force its way in). Your internal storage capacity simply becomes as much as you can stuff inside yourself, generally about 4x as much as it was before. Your party may rest comfortably inside you, though some might need to bring their own sleeping arrangements.
